Denpasar Archives Bali's tradition of literature dates back several hundreds years and encompasses ancient texts in Kawi and Sanskrit. Almost all of the writings in Balinese in the major library in Denpasar, were digitized and preserved in 2011—making Balinese the first language to have nearly its complete written literature online and available for free. These Lontar manuscripts (written on palm leaves) include texts on religion, family genealogies,, arts and architecture, calendars, prose, poems, magic and more. |
