The Right to Read The lawsuit between the publishers and the Internet Archive (Hachette v. Internet Archive) will argued before the Court of Appeals tomorrow (June 28). Our position is simple: we want our library patrons to be able to borrow and read the books we own, just like any other library. However, the publishers suing us argue that we should not be allowed to lend the books we own, which has resulted in the removal of over half a million books from our library. Have you been affected by the loss of access to these books in your reading or research? As we continue to fight against the removal of books and access to learning materials, we urge our patrons to support us in various ways, from sharing your story to signing an open letter to the publishers in the Hachette v. Internet Archive case. Find out more below on how you can help. |
